This popular hotel is about 10 minutes from campus, but does offer free shuttle service to Banner University Medical Center.

It has been reported to me from applicants that there are some Airbnb's in the area that have been great options. I personally have not been to any of the options below, but it is worth checking out:
Charming Private Studio - Great price and value, close to the medical center, and wonderful host (she made sure I was safe and had everything. She even Fed-exed my shirt that I left). She left me croissants and just made my stay wonderful. Cheaper than a hotel!!
Stylish Midcentury Pool House - Comfortable queen bed, fireplace, and stylish modern furnishings with large windows looking out to trees and sparkling pool. Vaulted ceilings and natural light make for a restful space. Located two blocks from the UMC/Banner Medical Center
The Birdhouse--Walk to Banner / UA - stand-alone guest house in one of Tucson's most historic neighborhoods. It has been fully remodeled and has a hip, mid-century modern vibe.
