UAMC-SC is located in the south side of Tucson. In 2004, this former county-managed facility was taken over by The University of Arizona faculty group. The hospital has been reinvigorated by this change and now houses the majority of the Neurology department outpatient clinics and clinical neurophysiology facilities. Additionally, the inpatient facility provides inpatient Psychiatric services for the County as well as being a primary point of healthcare serving the residents of the south and southwest sides of the Tucson Metropolitan Area.
